In the autumn of 1993 the citizens of Ontario elected a Conservative government. By early 1994 that government had introduced really nasty budget cuts which would impact education. Students at the University of Ottawa feared that the Visual Arts Department would face cuts so bad that it would all but disappear. Laura Margita organized a sort of protest exhibition which was mounted at Ottawa's Gallery 101. Read about it in the press clipping from the Ottawa Citizen.
