Art-o-Rama. It was Art. It was Rama.

The "Blue Sports Camel" was constructed in the summer of 1997 to wear for "Art-o-Rama", a live art-making event at Gallery 101 in Ottawa, Canada. Chastity L'Amour (funny girl Andrea Jensen) and I were the MC's for the event. The camel came equiped with 4 dangly legs, a pink penis & testes and a below-the-tail anus in which guests were invited to stick their fingers (I would invite them to "goose" my camel or blatantly ask if they would like to stick their fingers up his ass). It's astounding how uptight some people get about touching a little pink stretch knit.

The outfit was constructed like an inner tube and was worn around my waist. It featured padded over-the-shoulder straps which held me securely on the centre of the hump. The kaftan and head gear were purchased in Cairo in 1994 - I kind of figured they would come in handy some day.

This costume was also worn on the catwalk in the first ever "Black Tie 2 Bondage" show - the wearable art fashion fund-raiser for SAW Gallery in Ottawa.

I used to work for a fairly conservative multi-national corporation and wore this outfit to work on Hallowe'en one year. I won a costume prize for it. Some of my colleagues were delighted to pluck candy kisses out of his butt as I spread good cheer throughout the office. Unfortunately I left some stuck way up there and discovered them a couple of years later all sticky and melted. Alas my camel's anus was fused together and no longer of any use.
